Professional recognition: The flying training is given by a nationally accredited provider and, in conjunction with the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority, provides all statutory training for qualification, as well as the preferred options required for employment, as either light charter pilots or flying instructors. When so employed you may then accrue further flying experience necessary for entry into larger airlines. The course will give students an accredited award which will also recognize their potential for further undergraduate studies in aviation if so desired.

Career opportunities:
Professional careers in General Aviation as fixed wing pilots are available with regional airlines, leading to major airlines. Research done by the MDAC governing body and itīs Chief Flying Instructor shows that the aviation industry market in the Indian subcontinent is booming and the airlines are faced with a severe shortage of pilots to operate their aircraft. Estimates indicate that 4,000 more captains will be needed to feed airline expansion plans up to 2010. WFTA has specifically developed a programme for the Indian aviation market keeping in mind Indian Civil Aviation Departmentīs rules and regulations.

Pre-requisites:
Class 1 Commercial Pilots Medical examination. Min 18 years of age for International students. Competency in written and spoken English language. International student must have a pass in English in Secondary School(10+2) or equivalent or 7.5 of IELTS or a pass in ‘Aviation English". Completed application form and acceptance letter from WFTA. Course fees paid to WFTA Public Trust account. Note: International students may be required to undergo a course in English language if competency in English is not found satisfactory.

Courses:
This Integrated Modular Course of PPL and CPL involves- Daily Lectures, Videos, Guest Speakers, Visits, Cockpit Resource Management and Pilot Decision Making Seminars, Mountain Flying Awareness, Flying, and Evening study 5 days per week. Block sessions also form part of this course (e.g. Cross-country training throughout NZ, and Mountain Flying). A total 200 hours is required for a Commercial Pilot Licence, which includes the hours flown for PPL and includes the following: 100 Hours solo training Cessna-152/ PA38 Piper Tomahawk 85 Hours dual training Cessna-152/ PA38 Piper Tomahawk 15 Hours ME training PA34 Piper Seneca/ Partnavia P68B 15 Hours training simulator F-141 and F-242
