Marywood University is the only institution in the region that offers a
bachelors degree in aviation management. We are accreditedby the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP).Our faculty are pilots themselves, and small class sizes allow them to give students personal attention.
Marywood offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Aviation Management. This program has two tracks:
- Professional Pilot/Flight Operations
- Airport/Airline Management
This unique combination of programs will prepare you for a career
in airline/airport management and as an aircraft pilot. Pilots working
in the field today find that having a business degree is a great asset.
Students in the Professional Pilot/Flight Operations track begin
flying during their first semester. Marywoods flight training program
is certified as a Part 141 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight school.
Students who graduate in the Professional Pilot/Flight Operations track
are certified FAA Commercial Pilots with instrument privileges. In
addition, students have the option to obtain a multi-engine rating and a
Flight Instructors Certificate (CFI).
Flight training is conducted at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport
(AVP). After obtaining the necessary licenses and ratings, several of
Marywoods students have been selected to fly with one of the FAA Part
135 approved flight charter operations at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
airport.
If you already have flight experience, or if you have earned an
associates degree in aviation from another institution, you can enhance
your current abilities and build upon your experience with new skills. A
bachelors degree in aviation management will open doors to advance
your career.
Marywood students can take advantage of internship opportunities.
Graduates of our aviation management program have secured positions as
airline pilots, flight slots in the military, and management positions
with aviation companies.
Marywood students can participate in the Army or Air Force Reserve
Officer Training Corps (ROTC). ROTC provides leadership training,
worldwide travel opportunities, and a career path to commissioning as a
military officer. Scholarships are available to students who participate
in the ROTC.
