Colorado Northwestern provides Aircraft Maintenance and Aviation (flight) training leading to a certificate, an associates degree, or both. The aviation mechanic program is an FAA approved, Part 147 School, and the commercial pilot program is an FAA approved, Part 141 School. Aircraft Maintenance students may earn their Private Pilot Certification as well.
Classes are small, 8 to 15 students. Instructors are state certified, and all come from aviation careers. The college owns a fleet of flight training aircraft, as well as turbine and piston engines, non-flying maintenance aircraft, and other maintenance training equipment.
Colorado Northwestern is a residential campus with dorms and food service. There are multiple activities sponsored by the outdoor recreation program: river trips, technical climbing, spelunking, mountain biking, and more.
